The King’s authority is established as a suffering servant.
On this Palm Sunday message, Pastor Rod walks through the entire Passion Week in Mark chapters 11–15. Rather than isolating the Triumphal Entry, the sermon traces how Jesus deliberately establishes His authority—not as a conquering earthly king, but as the suffering Servant who came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.
The repeated theme is the reversal of order: the first shall be last, and the last first. Every event of the week—cleansing the temple, confrontations with religious leaders, parables, the Last Supper, Gethsemane, the trials, and the cross—is framed by this truth. The King who rides into Jerusalem on a donkey will leave it carrying a cross.
