Our faith is dependent upon understanding the work of Jesus Christ.
In this second message of the “Behold the Lamb” series, we move from the person of Christ (His incarnation) to His work. The key doctrine under consideration is imputation—the great exchange in which our sin is credited to Christ and His perfect righteousness is credited to us.
Saving faith rests not merely on sincerity, but on the correct understanding of what Jesus accomplished. Because He is the perfect, spotless Lamb—truly God and truly man—He alone could bear our guilt and provide the righteousness we could never earn. This truth strengthens our faith, fuels our worship, and equips us to speak clearly about the gospel during the Christmas season.
