Because God effects the success of the mission, He expects simple obedience from His messengers.
In this message from Exodus 6:28–7:7, Moses once again offers excuses about being unskilled in speech. God responds by reminding him that the outcome does not depend on Moses’ ability, but on the mighty hand of the Lord. Success in God’s mission is not measured by visible results, but by faithful obedience—simply putting one foot in front of the other and trusting God for the rest.
This text calls us away from pragmatic self-reliance and toward confident, steady obedience, knowing that the same God who commands the mission also guarantees its success.
