Rejection is an inevitable part of faithfully proclaiming the gospel—but how we respond to rejection reveals where our trust is placed.
In this message from Exodus 5, Rodney C. Brown Jr. examines Moses and Aaron’s encounter with Pharaoh and the discouragement that followed. When the mission becomes difficult and the expected results do not come, the temptation is to quit. Yet God’s people are called to persevere, trusting that the mission is moving forward according to God’s sovereign plan and promises.
Rejection is not ultimately about us. It is a reminder that we are messengers participating in God’s work. Our calling is not to control the response, but to faithfully preach, pray, serve, and remain steadfast—even when we do not see the results we hoped for.
How do we respond when obedience brings rejection? By cultivating contentment in God’s sovereign will and continuing faithfully in the mission He has given us.
