God expects obedience when He responds to our daily needs.
One month after leaving Egypt, the whole congregation of Israel grumbles against Moses and Aaron, wishing they had died full in Egypt rather than face hunger in the wilderness. Yet the Lord hears their complaint and responds with remarkable grace: He rains down bread from heaven (manna) and provides meat.
This provision is not unconditional. It comes with a clear test of obedience—gather only what is needed for each day. God is teaching His people to trust Him for daily bread and to walk in dependence rather than self-reliance. The same God who parted the sea now sustains them morning by morning.
