Believers avoid grumbling by trusting and obeying, knowing God sustains them.
Only three days after the great Song of the Sea, Israel’s joyful worship turns to bitter complaint. Facing thirst in the wilderness and finding only the bitter waters of Marah, the people grumble against Moses and, ultimately, against God.
This passage exposes how quickly our hearts can move from praise to panic when circumstances turn hard. The call is clear: do not follow your feelings, instruct your heart through obedience, and rest in the sovereign God who sustains His people. He is the same Lord who just parted the sea—He will not abandon them now.
