Believers trust knowing the Lord fights for us.
In this first part of the Red Sea narrative from Exodus 13:17–14:14, God leads Israel on a deliberate detour away from the shorter coastal route. He knows their faith is not yet ready for open warfare with the Philistines. Instead, He organizes them in martial array, has them carry Joseph’s bones as a reminder of His promises, and positions them at the edge of the sea—where Pharaoh’s army will soon appear.
What looks like a trap is actually God’s careful navigation and glory orchestration. When panic rises, the call remains the same: stand firm and watch the salvation of the Lord. The battle belongs to Him.
