Believers trust knowing the Lord fights for us.
In this second part of the Red Sea narrative, Israel’s confidence collapses as Pharaoh’s chariots close in. What began with high-handed boldness turns to sarcasm, fear, and regret. They accuse Moses and long for the slavery they once hated.
Moses responds with the central call of the passage: “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord… The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” The battle is not theirs to win by strength or strategy. God alone will be glorified through both judgment on Egypt and the deliverance of His people.
This text points us forward to the greater Exodus accomplished at the cross, where the Lord fights for us and secures our salvation.
